"Our vision is a world where people use resources effectively, live sustainably and make a positive contribution to the environment. By changing the world around us – at home, at work, in school and in our communities – we can all make a difference."

Waste Watch exists to show everyone how they can make that difference.

Waste Watch was set up in 1987 with a mission to raise awareness around waste issues and to encourage waste reduction, reuse and recycling. Over 20 years later, the landscape has changed dramatically and Waste Watch has been a major driving force behind the shift in public, political and media opinion.

Whether you are a business, school, community group, local authority or public body, we can help you:

• educate people about the environment and sustainability;
• communicate with your customers, staff and stakeholders;
• reduce waste to improve efficiency and cut costs;
• engage with communities to bring about behaviour change;
• research public attitudes and behaviour; and
• monitor, evaluate and audit your environmental practices and policies.

Waste Watch offers fun, hands-on learning experiences through our schools, community and workplace programmes. The
schools programmes are linked to the National Curriculum and designed to help pupils and staff quantifiably reduce their environmental impact at school and at home. For example:

• Sustainable Schools – supports staff implementing the National Framework for Sustainable Schools and encourages staff and pupils to turn their school into a model of sustainability in the community.
• Recycler – our interactive robot teaches primary school pupils to reduce, reuse and recycle.
• Education Network – provides continuous professional development for members, a forum to exchange ideas and access to free teaching resources on the website.
